Private, stylish, and comfortable-- A total getaway! Beautiful mountain setting on small, historical farm in the heart of the Rockfish Valley Historical district, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. She gave us a heads up about the winter weather, came down to check on us and offered a meal, and even made the trek down the driveway and helped us shovel to pull our jeep out of a ditch after a full feet of snow had us stuck! The cottage had everything we needed, plenty of space for 2 and was in a very convenient location to get to Wintergreen and the nearby breweries and restaurants.

There are fans throughout the rest of the house but depending on the weather it could be a bit uncomfortable. Lots of great hiking trails, breweries, wineries, etc. Elise was a wonderful hostess. She had everything we needed in the cottage and brought us fresh eggs for breakfast. The sleeping loft opens to the living room so the space is ideal for a family group, or two couples who like each other very much. It's a pretty spare space and one thing I either didn't notice when I first booked, or was not made clear: We would love to come back again in the Spring or Fall and see more of the beautiful area! She was very easy to communicate with throughout our stay. Charming cottage and a convenient location to the sites of Nelson County. A fifth guest can be accommodated in the day bed in the living room. The cottage is perfect in every way with attention to every single detail. There's nothing quite like the sight of the blue ridge outside your door. The bed in the back bedroom is VERY comfortable and the overall set-up of the cottage is great! We're located close to the restaurants of Nellysford, 25 minutes from Waynesboro and its splendid Kline's ice cream, and only 35 minutes from Charlottesville and the University of Virginia. The hospitality of Elise and her husband is unmatched. Buy local organic breads from 3 different bakeries. We enjoyed the fresh farm eggs, local coffee and eating out on the porch.
